Ever tried speed dating? Ever heard of speed dating? Presumably the answer is yes to at least having heard of it!
Very simply you invite a group of people to attend a venue and meet a large number of the opposite sex with a view to matching up wherever two people both "match" i.e. they have both indicated to the organisers that they were attracted to each other.
In a normal speed dating evening this might typically be 20 men and 20 women.
Each girl will be given an id say girl #1, who would then be invited to go and sit at table # 1.
This will then be her base for the evening.
When the speed dating starts the organisers will indicate and boy # 1 will be sent to table # 1, boy # 2 will go to table # 2 etc.
They will have 3 minutes to talk and then a bell will ring and each boy will move 1 table. i.e boy # 1 will move to table #20, boy # 2 will go to table # 1 etc.
In the course of the evening each girl will have met 20 boys and vice versa.
Everyone will be asked to complete their form to indicate if they were attracted to anyone.
These will then be matched up by the organisers and each person where there was a "match" will be contacted by the organisers.

So what makes Comedy Speed Dating (CSD) different?
We believe that when people go out for an evening such as speed dating they are not seriously expecting to meet the love of their lives but they are going out hoping to have a fun evening!
Our CSD evenings are run by a comedian. You arrive and check in with the organisers and are immediately offered a glass of wine, a beer or a soft drink and shown to a seat where you can hear the comedian, who will welcome you and perform for the first twenty minutes or so.
Comedy Speed Dating (CSD) is not for the faint hearted as you will see, but in order to take part you must have a charged and operational iphone with location services turned on in your settings..
Everything will go through the CSD App.
Hopefully the comedian will make you laugh and the shared experience and the laughter that is generated all help to make everyone relax.
When everyone is ready the comedian will send press a button on his phone and immediately a message will go to all participants instructing everyone where to go e.g Jean to table 1 to meet Richard.
Each round of speed dating will see everyone moving around unable to see who is coming next as happens in "normal" speed dating.
In "normal" speed dating girl # 1 will know exactly who is coming to their table well in advance, as they can expect boy no 2 followed by boy 3 etc. In CSD every round will be randomly generated.
When all participants have taken their places the 3 minutes of conversation are ready to begin.
In "normal" speed dating if a girl meets 20 men they should have 20 conversations but in practice she may have the same conversation 20 times, as most people tend to ask the same questions - "where do you come from, what do you do etc.
In CSD once everyone is seated the comedian presses a button and each table will receive a "topic" to discuss! There will be 20 topics, which could be movies, current affairs, etc and there will be 15 general topics and 5 which are sexual or suggestive and the topic will be flashed to the comedian who might make a comment!. CSD is not for the faint hearted!
Using your phone it is possible to make comments and also to instantly record if you would like to meet the person opposite again.At the conclusion of the event our organiser will be able to tell you of any "matches" (i.e both parties ticked yes they would like to meet again).
As we say the idea is to have a fun evening!!
